Pigeons are not only a nuisance when they find their way inside of a property, but even having them landing and perching on a roof or a window sill can lead to unsightly marks from their feces, as well as the problem of having them scavenging around the building. There are many different ways that people can use to try and keep these pesky birds away, and the pigeon needle strip is one of these methods. If you can successfully keep the pigeons away, then it will not only reduce the amount of cleaning work required on the building, but can help prevent the other problems that pigeons can cause too.

The Problem Of Pigeons Landing On Properties

Whether you are looking after a large public building or just your own home, the health of those people inside the building is very important, and living too closely with a population of pigeons is not conducive to that health. The pigeon droppings are one of the biggest problems, as the pigeons are not fussy about where they defecate, and this is not only ugly but also can carry and transmit disease too. Having these birds scavenging around the property can also cause problems when it comes to the days when the garbage is put out, and can mean you have to install a covered garbage store if they regularly get into bags if they are left at the rear of the building.

What Is Pigeon Needle Strip?

Effectively, the pigeon needle strip is exactly what it sounds like – it is a strip that is usually made of metal that will have a series of needles on it, pointing upwards, which can be installed on many different surfaces to stop the pigeons from landing there. This is a physical deterrent, and the needles are often made to be long enough to prevent the pigeons from getting around them too. It is important to choose a strip that has quite a close network of needles, as some with gaps between the needles can see the pigeons landing in those gaps.

How Are Pigeon Needle Strips Installed?

These strips are fairly easy to install, and can either be glued in place with a strong adhesive that can be used on roof tiles, or they can be screwed in place if you are affixing them on a tougher surface such as concrete or stone window sills.
