Many of Utah's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Utah's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Summit county animal services for assistance. Park City Wildlife Removal Tip: How to keep raccoons out of my bird feeder: One of the things that might be inviting raccoons into your garden is your bird feeder. Birds are good for the ecosystem, and it is lovely to wake up to the sound of the birds chirping away around you. However, it's easy to give up on the birds and just get rid of the bird feeder to hopefully deter those raccoons. That's not the answer - you just need to think outside the box a little. You need to make the bird feeder inaccessible for the average raccoon. You could start by getting rid of the bird feed for a few days, making it appear to the raccoon that the source of food has run out. After a while, she might find somewhere else to feed and you can resume your usual bird-feeding activity. However that raccoon (or another) could come back at which point, your problem hasn't been resolved. It's time to think about modifying the bird feeder. Make sure they're hanging high, not easily accessible. Put it on a pole or hang it from your washing line. If it's hanging from a tree, the raccoon can climb the tree. The same can be said if it is near a wall. Raccoons are very good climbers - they climb trees in the wild to run away from predators. You could also make sure there is a 'plate' of sorts around the base of the feeder, preferably on a pole, to catch the leftover seeds that might fall. If the raccoons can't get to the feed on the floor, it won't be so tempted to climb up and take a closer look. Alternatively, you could look at getting a raccoon-friendly bird feeder - one with a cage of sorts to allow the birds in but keep other animals out.

Park City Animal News Clip: ARE FOXES DANGEROUS TO HUMANS?

Whenever one of us spots a fox, the first reaction that clicks on the mind is to run before it attacks you. This is because of the assumption that because a fox comes from the dog family, which also comprises of the wolves and the jackals, which are considered to be extremely dangerous animals, then the fox has to be dangerous too. The other assumption is that because the fox has long canine teeth use for gripping and tearing flesh, it might come running towards a human and tear off flesh from the body of a human. The fox is also an extremely fast animal. It has thin legs which appeared to be light, and by this I mean the tip-toe type. If you spot a fox, it always seems to be on toes, ready to run from or after something. The truth of the matter is that foxes are not dangerous to humans. Though there have been few attacks that have been reported, the fox does not pose danger to a human being. Generally, foxes are either too shy or cowards to approach humans. They cannot come advancing aggressively towards humans without a reason.

The fox usually comes sneaking into your yard or house because of the presence of fruits such as berries and also because of the presence of small animals such as chicken and rabbits. Their nature is not to fight. It is also not in their nature to like noise. They usually operate very quietly. Therefore, if you find one eating one of your chickens in the barn, its only instinct is to run. However, there are a few exceptions. When a fox feels that it is cornered and has no alternative route of escape, it might turn combative because it feels there is no option that would solve the situation. If a fox feels that it has been deeply threatened by humans, then it will retaliate. When you go mess with a fox's den when filled with its offspring, then you might get on the animal's bad side. It will become aggressive towards you in an effort to protect its den and offspring, just like any wild animal would.

Sometimes a fox that is sick might be a slight danger to humans. This is because animal sickness usually causes a disoriented mind and confusion on the animal, thus in turn it would increase the level of fear of the fox when approached by the animal and trigger aggression.

In conclusion, foxes are not in any way aggressive to human beings. Unless they feel provoked or threatened, they will always run away and hide from a human being and return when the person is not around.
