Many of Tennessee's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Tennessee's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Davidson county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. Nashville Wildlife Removal Tip: Do relocated rats survive? Trapped animals, including rats can find it difficult to survive in new surroundings. Rats are known to perish , out of their usual natural territories, because they need access to water, and food. Live cage and traps can be ideal but have to be checked regularly because rats can suffer from exhaustion, dehydration and hunger- an average rat can consume as much as double its own body size, thus it can chew the materials of its cage, especially when it has no access to food.

Relocated rats can hardly survive in unfavorable weather conditions. Rats cannot survive under winter conditions, however they multiply extremely fast when they are relocated to a warm and moist environment. Rats cannot survive when temperatures are lower than 4 degree Celsius, likewise, rats cannot survive under snowy conditions because they are natural warm blooded animals.

The restless nature of rats , make it extremely difficult for them to survive when their movements are restricted. Most rats are more active during the night , however they rarely see during the night . Rats rely on their instincts when searching for food and shelter, and they normally follow a single pathway to access their colony, thus , you can easily catch a rat once you have detected its movement along the wall , door or even in the attic- you can detect its pathway by following its droppings, feces and fur that are left while it moves around your home.

Some rats cannot survive 24 hours in a caged environment, thus they must be relocated as soon as possible, otherwise they will perish. The best time to relocate a rat is during the night , when there is little or no light for them to retrace their steps back- rats have poor vision, however they can still find their way back to your home if you relocate them during the day. The hours of between 11pm and 4am are the best period to relocate a rat and if a rat is relocated within this period, it may perish within an hour of its relocation.

The age of a rat at the time of relocation can also determine how long it can survive after relocation. Rats that are few days or weeks old will normally die within few minute or hours after relocation, however, older rats may survive for days , especially if they can find alternative home. The presence of predators within a new environment can also determine whether a relocate rat will survive or not. The poor sight rats possess makes them vulnerable to the attack of predators, thus they might be picked up while they are creating new colonies within a new area. Rats do not feed on plants and insects thus, their survival may be hampered by extreme shortage of food when they are relocated into forests.
