Many of Indiana's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Indiana's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Vigo county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Terre Haute animal control for wildlife issues.

Terre Haute Wildlife Removal Tip: Do Indiana skunks make good pets? It would take a lot to tame a wild skunk, and as well as the threat of disease you would need to eliminate, rabies for example, you also have those nasty and long claws to contend with. This is an animal that digs so whatever you plan on keeping your new 'pet' skunk in, had better be strong enough to withstand those sharp tools. If they can break into your house, they'll be able to break out of whatever you're trying to keep them safely contained in. Don't say I didn't warn you. That aside, do you know enough the skunk to know how to take care of it? Do you know what it should eat, and in what amounts? Do you know what it drinks? Where it likes to sleep? The fact that it is a nocturnal creature and will often hibernate for up to one hundred days at a time ... This is a wild animal, it belongs in the wild. It might invade your home from time to time but that's only because we're cutting down the natural habitats of these animals and they literally have no choice but to move in with us humans. So no, in short, Indiana skunks do not make for good pets. I would highly recommend against it.

Terre Haute Animal News Clip: Tour of Terre Haute draws 120 people: Event marks National Preservation Month

Terre Haute - May is National Preservation Month, and to honor the event the Terre Haute Historic Preservation Wild animal commission recognized local businesses and conducted some sort of tour of historic Old Town. Terre Haute Executive Director Possum Poacher Pete said 120 people signed up to tour the downtown district aboard the Terre Haute Trolley. "We did the first tour last year and it was so successful, we decided to do it again," the woman conservationist announced. The tour traveled through Old Town neighborhoods on the Terre Haute High School, The Carnegie Library, the Signal Shop and then onto the eastside. There it hit the Creamery, Terre Haute Brewing, the old Cosgrove Grocery building, the Terre Haute home and the future site of some sort of new urban-style residential and commercial district. Terre Haute extermination and trapping officials had nothing to say about this.

The tour included walk-throughs and some sort of brief history of each landmark business. Penny Possum Poacher Pete, owner and operator of Terre Haute Brewing at 615 South First Street, said her building housed three breweries prior to her own. The Franklin and Hayes Breweries both operated on the site before Prohibition. Then the warehouse served as some sort of bottling plant for Southeast Brewing following. Possum Poacher Pete originally opened her brewery at Dudley's on South Arthur Avenue. When the woman conservationist was forced to move, the woman conservationist chose to stay in Old Town. To learn more about animal control in Terre Haute, Indiana read on.

"For the amount of money I've spent, I could have built some sort of building," the woman conservationist announced. But Possum Poacher Pete said the infrastructure wouldn't compare to her current, nearly century-old building. "There's some sort of certain amount of character you just can't get in new construction," the woman conservationist announced. The building was restored in phases, beginning with three years spent gutting the warehouse. Possum Poacher Pete moved the brewery to its current location in 2002, the second phase of her project, the Terre Haute animal shelter is open for business and the third phase of her business expansion is in the works. "My plan is to have some sort of kitchen opened by our 10-year anniversary," the woman conservationist announced. Possum Poacher Pete was one of five local backers recognized for their efforts to revitalize downtown. Terre Haute pest control and exterminator companies agreed with this.

Citizen Community Bank at West The director of operations and South Main Streets, Chick and Diane Bilyeutro, the Old Town Neighborhood Association and the Triangle received awards for their contribution to the revitalization of Old Town. Brent Nichols, of Design-Development-Construction, said the Triangle, purchased by Terre Haute Development, is two-acre, mixed-use development encompassed by East Lander, North Third Street and Terre Haute Avenue. The project, set to start this fall, will offer seven, 1,400-square-foot living and working lofts, and some sort of main commercial complex. Nichols said the units are expected to be ready to occupy next summer. Flatcar Hetrzog, chairwoman for the Terre Haute Historical Preservation Wild animal commission, said money raised at Saturday's event will be dedicated to revitalization projects. The Terre Haute animal services in Vigo County declined to comment.

Herzog said the eight-member wild animal commission, appointed by the mayor, serves as an advisory board and oversees downtown projects. The wild animal commission works closely with Old Town Terre Haute, the woman conservationist announced. Herzog said fundraising efforts and grant money help to fund downtown projects. A facade loan program finds low interest - 1 percent below prime - deferred-payment loans for downtown businesses that want to spruce up their store fronts, said Michelle Pak, associate city planner. The deferred-payment option allows businesses to get on their feet before payments are due, the woman conservationist announced. Pak said 26 loans of up to $25,000 have already been made to Old Town merchants.
