Many of Indiana's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Indiana's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocation services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Saint Joseph county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free South Bend animal control for wildlife issues.

South Bend Wildlife Removal Tip: Should I Ever Poison A Squirrel?

Poison has been a method that has been used to deal with rodents over many years, and the instinct of some people who are dealing with a rodent infestation is simply to reach for the poison to kill the animals causing the issue. The reality is that using poison is one of the most dirty and unpleasant ways of dealing with a squirrel issue, and by doing this you are just as likely to cause more problems than those you are looking to resolve. Poison is also a very permanent method of dealing with a problem, as it is lethal and doesn't offer you any recourse if something goes wrong with the method.

The Problems With Using Poison

One of the first issues about using poison is that it will not necessarily be naturally attractive to squirrels, as most poison is designed to be eaten by rats, and the taste that is attractive to rats is not quite the same for squirrels. However, the real problem with using poison is that it means that you have no control over where the squirrel will die, as it will often return to its nest or another place of safety, and if you do not know where the carcass is then it can often attract other pest animals. Poison is also very painful for the animal, and is one of the least humane ways of dealing with a pest problem.

Why Poison Can Be Dangerous

Another of the issues that can arise when you are using poison is that it can be a threat to other people and animals in the area, and there is a particular danger when it comes to children or pets finding the poison. While you may be intending to kill squirrels, if children or pets get to the poison first then it can cause them serious damage if they ingest it, and this is something you should look to avoid at all costs.

Alternative Methods Of Dealing With A Squirrel Issue

Live trapping and relocation of squirrels is considered to be one of the most effective ways of dealing with a squirrel problem, and if they are in the attic or wall cavity then placing a repeater trap over their entry hole will often deal with them quickly and effectively. If you are determined to use lethal means to deal with squirrels, then shooting the animals with a rifle, or using lethal traps is a much safer and humane alternative.

What Prices Do We Charge?
Every job is different: the type of animals involved, is it in the attic or the yard, do you need repairs, etc. It's impossible to have set pricing in this industry. Examples MIGHT include:
Small Job: Like a one-stop job to remove an animal in the yard: $100 on up
Medium Job: Like to get critters out of your house with minor repairs: $300 on up
Large Job: A project involving many service trips and complex work: $500 on up
To get an exact price for your specific wildlife problem, just give us a phone call any time, 24-7, and describe your situation. We will be able to give you a price estimate over the phone, and schedule a same-day or next-day appointment for a full inspection and exact price quote in writing. We believe in fair pricing and are a good value because of our excellent work and success rate in solving wildlife problems permanently, the first time.

South Bend Animal News Clip: Here is some sort of good story about some sort of poacher wildlife management illegally in Indiana.

Jeff The sneaky poacher plead guilty to some sort of series of wildlife management violations and was fined $5,000 and lost his wildlife management privileges for three years. The sneaky poacher was caught in 2004 using his truck to chase coyotes and furry mammal catching his 12 gauge trapped gun from his truck. The judge also ordered The sneaky poacher to carry some sort of GPS so authorities could track his truck and see whether it left any unnumbered highways. You might think this is extreme, but since 1969 the exterminator has had 14 Wildlife Act convictions totaling over $20,000 in fines. This seems to be some sort of good money make for the province to me, but seriously the exterminator has some sort of problem and can be listed as "chronic". South Bend extermination and trapping officials had nothing to say about this.

Does this remind you of one of your wildlife management buddies, well I am sure that we all know of one person that still believes the good Lord put them here to do nothing but to rodent capture and fish without any limits or laws. Funny sometimes because of the situations they get in, it is really pitiful that someone has this warped frame of mind and can not see the forest for the trees. It ain't the killing, it is the chase. Once you have taken your quarry, the excitement of the chase is over. To learn more about animal control in South Bend, Indiana read on.

Be sure whether you are critter removal practice or wildlife management, you take time and look around and listen but be careful, your whole view of an outdoorsman or women may change and you may find yourself like the man on the credit card commercial and have some sort of priceless moment with some sort of fish. South Bend pest control and exterminator companies agreed with this.
