Many of Connecticut's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Connecticut's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocaton services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

We do not handle dog or cat problems. If you need assistance with a domestic animal, such as a dog or a cat, you need to call your local Litchfield county animal services for assistance. They can help you out with issues such as stray dogs, stray cats, spay & neuter programs, vaccinations, licenses, pet adoption, bite reports, deceased pets, lost pets, local animal complaints and to report neglected or abused animals. There is no free Winchester animal control for wildlife issues.

Winchester Wildlife Removal Tip:

What do you do if a raccoon is stuck in your dumpster?

Putting all the trouble raccoons cause you aside, it's quite hilarious when for once it's not you who are suffering because of the raccoon's antics, but the raccoon itself, like when it dives into your dumpster looking for leftovers, only to be stuck down there with no means of climbing out. It's almost pathetic even, and kind of makes you feel sorry for the animal.

Well, regardless of whether or not you want to help the animal, your dumpster isn't ready for use until you remove the raccoon. So, how do you deal with such a situation?

Using a snare pole

If you have one of those snare poles lying around your house and a steady hand, you can use it to remove the raccoon from the trash bin. While this method is certainly the fastest of getting the raccoon out of the dumpster, you shouldn't try it if you aren't ready for what comes next: releasing it. If you have a cage trap you can put it in, then, by all means, go ahead.

But if you're just planning to let it go outside the dumpster and get attacked by a frightened, frustrated (and ungrateful) animal, then you're better off trying something else instead.

Helping it climb out on its own

Another way to remove the raccoon is to show it the way to freedom, or rather to make a path for it to salvation. How? Just drop in a long, sturdy branch inside the dumpster (one that sticks out) and leave the premises. The raccoon will take the hint and use the branch to climb out of the dumpster. You could also use trash bags, or even cartons to do the job. Anything that could help the raccoon climb out would be effective in this scenario.

Calling the pros

Don't want to deal with this right now? That's fine, just phone your trusty wildlife experts. They'll show up on your doorstep and (for a small charge of course) remove the raccoon from the premises promptly. They'd even make sure to be gentle and relocate the animal properly to a suitable place. What more could you ask for?

Fixing the real problem

Now that the raccoon is out of the dumpster so let us turn our attention to the real problem: keeping raccoons out of your trash in the first place. Now the easiest way to do this would be to make sure your dumpster is always tightly closed. You can secure the lid with bungee cords, or even standard rope. You could also try spraying the dumpster with ammonia to keep the raccoons away.

What Prices Do We Charge?
Every job is different: the type of animals involved, is it in the attic or the yard, do you need repairs, etc. It's impossible to have set pricing in this industry. Examples MIGHT include:

Medium Job: Like to get critters out of your house with minor repairs: $300 on up
Large Job: A project involving many service trips and complex work: $500 on up
