Many of Colorado's wild animals have learned to adapt and even thrive in our homes. For example some wildlife have found that attics make great places to live. Other animals find refuge under homes or porches. Invariably, these animals cause damage. Rodents, like squirrels and rats, love to chew on electrical wires once in an attic, and this causes a serious fire hazard. Raccoons can cause serious contamination in an attic with their droppings and parasites. Same goes for bat or bird colonies. We specialize in solving Colorado's wildlife problems, from snake removal to large jobs like commercial bat control, we do it all.

We handle every aspect of wildlife control. We are fully equipped to work on any project, large or small. Some of our services include:

  • Humane wildlife trapping and relocaton services
  • Removal of raccoons or squirrels from the attic
  • Building repairs and prevention work to keep animals out
  • 100% permanent elimination of rats, mice, or even bats
  • Cleanup of animal waste and odor control services
  • Emergency animal issues, and dead animal removal

Durango Wildlife Removal Tip:

What is a mole hill?

Moles are the members of rodent family that are around 6 inches in length and 4-5 ounces in weight. These are carnivorous animals feeding on insects, worms, and grubs in your garden. These animals don't eat the plants, but they can destroy your garden by digging up tunnels all around and inside it.

People do not usually see these moles since they are very quick and spend most of their time under the ground. The presence of these animals can be confirmed if you have ridges from tunnels all over the yard, the soil in your garden feels spongy and damaged, the landscape of your yard or lawn is damaged, or you witness large molehill piles of dirt.

A mole mound, molehill or molehill is a cone-shaped hill of dirt, and it has free soil that is raised by the tunneling of underground living creatures. These animals mainly include moles and additionally comprises different other creatures such as voles and even rats.

As discussed above, the presence of a molehill in your garden or backyard confirms the fact that you have moles in there. Usually moles a solitary animal, therefore, even if you find a pattern of tunnels in your garden, there might only be a single mole living there.

Molehills are made when moles uncover their passages. The more significant part of the dirt and earth that they don't require because they haven't taken it out to clear a path for the passages is pushed to the surface in hills that are molded somewhat like little volcanoes.

The molehills may show up in a line inside the course of the tunnel, yet there are times that it might be found toward the end point or exit of the tunnel alone or on the short-sided burrows. The running patterns of the moles may vary depending upon the activity of the moles. These tunnels can be as shallow as several inches and as deep as 12 to 18 inches.

The molehills are made by the moles when they begin digging the dirt in your backyard and gardens. The idea behind building the molehills by moles is that these molehills are burrowed underneath the roots or trees of huge supporting bushes. In this way, the foundations of these plants serve the supporting capacity of the molehills and don't give the dirt a chance to crumble.

Notwithstanding this, the molehills and underground passages are additionally supported by the roots. The soil that is brought up in the form of molehills by the moles is from the deep-down layers. As a result, this soil is rich in organic matter and mineral nutrients. This soil is very fertile and can be readily used for a gardening purpose.
